Peter VanDaan

Most of the time I am alone in room away from the others .

I stay away because I am like a lone wolf, yet the only person I let near at the start was my lovely cat Mouschi.

I loved that cat a lot, I always fed him scraps though Dussel says that Mouschi gets fatter each day.

Dussel one of the most intolerable people in this hiding place, I wish I could just hit him , but it wouldn't be of
any good .

I am ashamed of my father's actions because he is greedy , but when he took my mother's fur coat I

sympathized her for she was absolutely crazy about that coat .

They are always arguing , my mother and father . I am glad I Cannot hear them argue they are terrible.

But the Franks are not , they are kind and quiet except Anne . She is loud and obnoxious , but always knows

how to say things to the adults.

I am thankful to Miep and Mr.Kraler , for helping me keep safe.

They are quite grand and always help us.

Miep even tried to help me find Mouschi when he ran away.

Oh how I miss my dear cat Mouschi.

When Mouschi left I began to motice Anne more .

She understood what I felt , and whaen her mother talked awfully to her sister she stood up for Margot.

That's when we began to really talk as friends and more .

Everyday she came to my room to talk and that lightened my day, so I think she is more managable.

I am quiet , usually keep to myself.

I blush awfully when I talk to girls.

I am sixteen years old.

I am Peter VanDaan.

Character Analysis

One of the most appealing characters in the play for me was Anne Frank. She was always very energetic and happy, something that I can relate to. I liked her for the reason that she always tried to see a good side to everything, even in the worst moments of her life. One line in the play that really shows this is the following; “You know how I’m going to think of it here? I’m going to think of it as a boarding house. A very peculiar summer boarding house.

This line shows exactly what I mean about her always trying to see a brighter side, even in the worst of situations. Right at the moment that she says this line it is when she is first in her family’s’ hiding place. Anne begins to realize at this moment that she will never be able to leave the hiding place, unless the war has an early finish just as she hoped.

In the play Anne is a thirteen-year-old girl who loves to have fun. She recently had to go into hiding because of the fear for the Nazis. Nonetheless Anne seems under mind this fact and tries to live a normal, not like the others who seem to mortify themselves because of their current position. Anne tries to have fun with all the people she shares the hiding place with but not all of the people she lives with seem to enjoy her company.

Mr. Van Daan for example, he and Anne always seemed to be arguing for one reason or another. With Mrs. Van Daan things were a bit better, at times Mrs. Van Daan would share stories of her luxurious, previous life with and of course Anne would listen attentively. That was her relationship with the two older Van Daans, but her relationship with Peter Van Daan was very different. They had a love/hate relationship, she would play pranks on him and he didn’t seem to mind at all in fact he seemed flattered by the fact that she would play around with him, though he didn’t show it. Only he showed it by never being mad with her for more than a few minutes at most an hour or so.

The relationship she shared with her family was very, very different from the relationship she had with Peter. With her mother, Anne didn’t get along very well because they were so distinct from each other. With Margot, it was that Margot took everything way to serous. Yet Anne shared a very good relationship with her father, Anne was able to talk about everything except for one little topic; Mother. So that's all about Anne Frank.

Then she doses off to sleep , and Mr.Frank leaves while Annes' voice talks once again.

What is Drama?

When the word drama comes up people usually think of the problems that go on between two people. Well that's the what comes to mind with teenagers , for adults it's like plays , movies , and stuff. Drama is exactly that plays and movies that conveys/shows emotion . Drama also portraits life. Drama has its' elements of plot that are as follows.

Stage Directions: They are the directions that are in the script . Their the words inside the parentheses that tell exactly how you are supposed to say something or do something on stage.

Dialogue: Dialogue is the way how the play develops or goes along . Basically dialogue is the way the play goes along . It's not like reading a book , it's more like watching a conversation or a soap opera.

Set/Stage: The set/stage is where the play is performed. More specifically its where the story  happens .

Plot: Another theater term is plot. Plot is the exposition, conflict, climax, falling action, and the resolution. In shorter words it's the development of the story. Like who's the story about, why did that happen, and how did it end. That's what the plot is.

Theme: Drama has seven themes . They are as listed love, revenge, bravery, tragedy, family, war,and redemption. So that's what plays usually are about.

Costumes: They are what the actors wear during a play. The costumes sometimes reflect what personality the character has. Costumes also show the time period in which the play takes place.

Music/Lighting:Music I guess you could say that it goes with the moment in the play . Lighting also is a very important thing it tells whether it's night or day , inside or outside, and such .

That's what drama is words and actions that reflect everyday life in a performance.
