What is Drama?

When the word drama comes up people usually think of the problems that go on between two people. Well that's the what comes to mind with teenagers , for adults it's like plays , movies , and stuff. Drama is exactly that plays and movies that conveys/shows emotion . Drama also portraits life. Drama has its' elements of plot that are as follows.

Stage Directions: They are the directions that are in the script . Their the words inside the parentheses that tell exactly how you are supposed to say something or do something on stage.

Dialogue: Dialogue is the way how the play develops or goes along . Basically dialogue is the way the play goes along . It's not like reading a book , it's more like watching a conversation or a soap opera.

Set/Stage: The set/stage is where the play is performed. More specifically its where the story  happens .

Plot: Another theater term is plot. Plot is the exposition, conflict, climax, falling action, and the resolution. In shorter words it's the development of the story. Like who's the story about, why did that happen, and how did it end. That's what the plot is.

Theme: Drama has seven themes . They are as listed love, revenge, bravery, tragedy, family, war,and redemption. So that's what plays usually are about.

Costumes: They are what the actors wear during a play. The costumes sometimes reflect what personality the character has. Costumes also show the time period in which the play takes place.

Music/Lighting:Music I guess you could say that it goes with the moment in the play . Lighting also is a very important thing it tells whether it's night or day , inside or outside, and such .

That's what drama is words and actions that reflect everyday life in a performance.
